 Introduction to
Our AP Courses

Advanced Placement (AP), a program created by the College Board, offers college-level curriculum to high school students. AP exams, corresponding to the AP program, are currently offered in 80 countries around the world. The registration deadline for AP exams is before October or November each year, and they are taken in May of the following year. AP scores are released before the end of July.

Offering Courses:

Calculus AB, Calculus BC, Statistics, Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Psychology, Chemistry, Biology, Physics 1, Physics 2, Physics C: Mechanics, Physics C: Electricity and Magnetism, Environmental Science, World History, U.S. History, Art History, European History, U.S. Government and Politics, Comparative Government and Politics, Human Geography, Computer Science A (CSA), Computer Science Principles (CSP), Music Theory

School time:

3:30 to 5:30 p.m.; Monday to Friday; September to May of next year (Please refer to the schedule for details)

Course features:

1. Among all AP subjects, many of them require a certain level of advanced placement. For example, AP Calculus requires students to fully acquire functions-related knowledge, Physics C: Mechanics requires them to be capable of basic calculus operations, and AP Chemistry requires them to understand basic mole calculation. Not only does grasping new knowledge pose a challenge in AP learning, but the difficulties caused by weak foundations also increase the challenge. On that account, in an effort to help students better deal with AP courses, Neofuture has invited teaching assistants who achieve a score of 5 in the AP exam to give lectures to novice students before and after class. The teaching assistants will explain the details of AP subjects, introduce the duration and the form of the exam, and offer targeted advice on preparation before class officially starts. Besides, the teaching assistants also sort out the key points for review after class and recommend steps for the students who have finished learning the subject. Only by ceaselessly learning all the way to the end can students fully grasp AP knowledge and earn a score of 5.

The assistants will provide the preparatory knowledge to students for those AP subjects that require prior knowledge (Calculus AB/BC, Physics 2, Physics C: Mechanics/Electricity and Magnetism, Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, U.S. History, and European History). The assistants will help students lay a solid basis of knowledge before the class officially starts to help them smoothly adjust to the AP program.

2. FRQ questions not only account for a high ratio of the AP exam but also test the knowledge of each chapter in a comprehensive manner, which poses a great challenge to students’ overall grasp of knowledge and their ability to connect the knowledge, so these questions are formidable obstacles in the AP exam.

In an effort to help students better prepare themselves for FRQ questions, the teachers of Neofuture have added a four-hour specialized FRQ class on top of the main course of each subject, which not only sorts out the methods to solve the FRQ questions by relating the knowledge as a whole but also summarizes more analytical techniques for such questions, as well as efficient and feasible problem-solving skills, thereby helping students surmount the obstacles in FRQ questions.

3. The AP Exam Syllabus is the basis for all AP exam points, for which the teaching and research team of Neofuture has never ceased its effort to explore. By updating the handout this year, we have divided the knowledge in the syllabus into more detailed fragments, so as to ensure that the 2023 version of the AP handout is perfectly matched with the knowledge of the syllabus. On the one hand, it boosts students’ performance in class, and on the other hand, it helps them better construct a knowledge system. The following are the highlights of the updated AP handout:

• Modularized handout with clear-cut knowledge framework

The team at Neofuture has refined the knowledge fragments in the handout and modularized each knowledge fragment into several sections: “lead-in discussion”, “concept definition”, “exam point explanation”, “example exercises”, “summary and evaluation”, etc. Such effort clarifies each knowledge point in its corresponding chapter and module, elucidates the exam points, highlights key points and difficult points, and presents more scientific and reasonable internal logic.

• Exponentially boosting exam-preparation efficiency with more summaries

More summaries are added in the 2023 version of AP handout, including but not limited to sorting knowledge points, summarizing FRQ presentation forms, discussing problem-solving analytical techniques and skills, etc. The new version attaches great importance to the application and practice of exercises, which exponentially boosts students’ efficiency in preparing for the exam.

• Appendixes for each subject, one handout greatly facilitates exam preparation

Personalized summary appendixes are newly attached to each AP subject in the 2023 version of AP handout. For instance, essential equations are newly added in Calculus, mind maps for unit summary are newly added in Psychology, and must-read economic charts and analyses are newly added in Microeconomics and Macroeconomics. Without a quality handout, a smooth one-stop AP learning experience is not achievable. An efficient learning loop can only be formed with learning, summarizing, and reviewing.

4. The 2023 edition of the classified workbook for the AP exam consolidates in-class learning in a stepwise manner

Exercise is an effective way to verify class performance. After the exams of 2022, the teaching and research team of Neofuture has reexamined the workbook and replaced the obsolete questions with the new ones from the 2022 AP exams, thereby finalizing the 2023 edition of the classified workbook for AP exams.

The 2023 edition of the workbook optimizes exercises on the basis of last year’s exercise, completely incorporates questions from actual AP exams and high-quality model questions in recent years, accurately sorts them into different sections corresponding to their knowledge points in the syllabus, assists students in eliminating blind spots in learning, and consolidates in-class learning in a stepwise manner. With such effort, this workbook strives to prepare students for the exam with incredible accuracy and efficiency.
